WELCOME!
Help us to keep alive the tradition of village cricket in Wheathampstead which stretches back to 1824.
The club is always on the look out for new players. All ages and standards are welcome, so if you would like to come along just send us an email, we look forward to hearing from you!
Cricket is played on the common on Saturday and Sunday throughout the season, with occasional mid-week and evening fixtures.
Part of the fun of playing on Nomansland is the sometimes large and appreciative crowds who gather to watch, so if you like to play to an audience this is just the right setting for you.
Spectators are always very welcome. We can't always promise to win, or to provide sunny weather, but we can promise the friendliest club in Hertfordshire and a packed social calendar
We have three adult teams, two league teams in the Herts Saracens Leagues (Div 4 & Div 7) and a friendly team who play on Sundays. The club also offers an expanding Colts section and we will be running both under 8s and under 9s Colts during the 2010 season.
Nets during the season are held every Tues and Thurs evening at the club, starting approx 6:30pm.
Wheathampstead Cricket Club are fully committed to providing the best facilities for both players and spectators to enjoy. Following the arson attack in 2007, we now boast a newly refurbished pavilion and are in the process of raising funds to fully renovate the wicket and provide new practice facilities.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for their continued support:
Pictons Solicitors and Wyvern Cricket Supplies who sponsor the WCC Colts Teams and Loop Construction Ltd who have sponsored the 1st XI and 2nd XI club shirts since 2007.
Special thanks also goes to TRAK Special Projects who provided the club with a brand new patio area for the start of the 2009 season and we are hopeful they'll be supporting the club for many years to come.
