Wheathampstead CC's Tour of Sri Lanka 2009
On Friday 15th Feb 2009, 12 players (and 3 associates) from the mighty Wheathampstead CC embarked on the club's inaugural tour to the sub-continent and the pearl of the Indian Ocean that is Sri Lanka.
With history on our side (no English Club team has ever won a game against its Sri Lankan counterparts in the last 10 years) and the Tamil Tigers making their last stand, there was nothing for WCC's mighty men to worry about or fear.......was there?
The tour schedule looked intense from the outset with 5 games being played across Sri Lanka in only 15 days, but the weather was hot, the venues top class and the opposition were all quality and ultra competitive!
