After a promising start to the season and having scored a superb match winning 75 during the 1st XI's defeat of Sawbridgeworth, Chris Martin has been reprimanded by the owner of the Nomansland Nomand's franchise for a number of ill-disciplined performances.
WCC sources close to the "Nomads" management team are concerned over reports that their opening batsman has been frequenting Batchwood Hall nightclub on the eve of league matches.
The owner of the "Nomads", believed to be an oil rich Sheikh from the Middle East, was recently overheard lambasting the opening batsman's attitude:
"In recent weeks he's shown me that he's just not up to the pressures of the FCL (Fantasy Cricket League) which is why we're going to strip him of the captaincy and replace him the reliable Dave Tree. The transfer window can't come soon enough".
The decision to oust Chris Martin appears to have been justified after Sky Sports News reported on Sunday morning that the player has gone into hiding having dropped 2 "sitters" the previous day during the 1st XI's match against Baldock.
